Here we are in the second half of 2020 and Covid-19 is still impacting us every day in a variety of ways.
The recently announced ‘recession’ is not good news but rest assured that our Management Team has experience in managing through tough times including past recessions, the GFC, stock market crashes, and other global challenges. We are taking conservative and proactive actions to protect Summit Innovations with our top priorities being to keep the company moving forward and to provide a secure environment for our staff.
I am pleased to announce that, despite all of the external issues we are being subjected to, the company is doing well as our international business is rebounding and we are deploying the Hungry jacks project in Australia (whilst continuing with our day-to-day business). The team is doing a good job getting components and products in and distributed to interstate and overseas offices for deployment. The installation and admin teams are making it all come together and dealing with the customers throughout the process.
Further good news is that headset repairs are up and the team in the Braeside workshop is doing a great job getting repairs back to customers in good time! We hit a record the week ending the 4th of September with 189 headsets being sent in for repairs (the previous record was 138).
In fact, everyone in the company has a role to play in every repair, new installation, and the ongoing support required to keep our clients happy and satisfied.
As you are now aware, Dan Thompkins in the U.S. has just been promoted to Director of Technical Services – Americas & Europe and with his team is making great headway into the US market. Watch out for announcements of new brands coming on board with the Summit technology. This is a well-deserved promotion so please join me in congratulating Dan.
We are still trying to recruit new staff Field Service Technicians in W.A. and Victoria. So far the advertisements on Seek haven’t resulted in any good candidates so we’ll refresh them and keep looking. These are specialised roles so if you know someone who may be suitable, please let us know.
