A Message From André

Melburnians are SUPER STARS! After 111+ days of Lockdown there are many out there that deserve Gold Stars – and no doubt you know many of them!

We’re so grateful to have been able to continue working at headquarters in Braeside as part of the essential services in the food chain – and again we thank everyone for their resilience and patience throughout a particularly peculiar period.  We must remain vigilant in our Covid-Safe practices and ensure that our teams and families stay healthy.

We’re delighted to announce that the border to Queensland is now open! Hopefully, the numbers will improve throughout Australia so that we can return to more freedom of travel throughout our great land.

One of the upsides from Covid-19 is that globally everyone will be seeking opportunities to be holidaying at home and using their vehicles for family road trips. This will help the regional economies and hopefully everyone will have a greater appreciation of exploring and connecting with our own sub-cultures.

In many areas, we are seeing Drive-thru businesses improve and the repairs for headsets and equipment remains strong.  Installations are booked in for the Hungry Jacks rollouts and we are pleased to be recruiting two new entry-level technicians; one for W.A. to work with Kim Trundell (https://bit.ly/2JbXNCt) and the other to assist Andrew in Victoria (https://bit.ly/36i67ci).  If you know someone who could be suitable, please encourage them to apply! These are great opportunities for young ones to enter an Aussie technology company.

To get a better work-life balance, Lindsay O’Brien has decided to move his role part-time working Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. He and his team will continue to make sure our customers get stable and functional timer and Panorama solutions from Summit.

John Ewing, based in Pittsburgh USA, is recruiting a team to start the development of the next generation Summit technology. You will hear more about this over the coming few months.

Whilst the future looks brighter, we will still err on the side of caution, so we will not be having traditional end of year celebrations/dinners with our team members. Social distancing can be a challenge at this kind of celebration, so we are instead planning something a little different, which you can share with your family and friends. More about that in December.

Yasmin (based in Honduras) has sent us some great content sharing some of her experiences from Latin America. Please read it to learn more about our international team members!

In the meantime, well done for getting this far through a very challenging year and be proud of what we’ve achieved…

Be well and take good care.

Warm Regards

André
